Sichuan Newspaper Museum opens to public

    Sichuan Newspaper Museum opened to public on February 20th.

    Situated inJinjiang district of Chengdu, the museum has been rejuvenated from an old building. It comprises two main exhibition halls: the Sichuan Newspaper Industry Development Exhibition and the Sichuan Daily PressGroup Theme Exhibition. The initial exhibits include over 360 items such as relevant documents, audiovisual materials, editorial tools, and printing equipment, showcasing the development of the Sichuan newspaper industry.

    From Sichuan Daily’s inaugural issue to the family photo of newspapers from various cities and regions in Sichuan, from award-winning works of the China Journalism Award to the ChangjiangTaofen Award trophies... here, through the archives of news, citizens can not only learn aboutthe development of Sichuan’s newspaper industry but also feel the profound changes of Sichuan and the splendid achievements of its development in the new era.

    "We will strive to build a growing professional museum and a shared cultural space," said the person in charge of the Sichuan Newspaper Museum. The museum will collaborate with colleagues in the newspaper,cultureand museum fields province-wide and even nationwide. Through interactive experiences, digital exhibitions, media research, and other methods, it will explore more ways of museum presentation, and link the industry with academia, showcasing the latest achievements in the deep integration and high-quality development of the newspaper industry.

    It is understood that the museum has already signed inter-museum cooperation agreements with institutions such as the Museum of China News and Publication, the Shanghai Taofen Memorial Hall, and the Fan Changjiang Memorial Hall. Additionally, it has formed cultural cooperation partnerships with cultural and museum units such as the Sichuan Provincial Library, Chengdu Library, and Sichuan University Library. Moreover, it collaborates with universitiesincluding Sichuan University and Sichuan Normal University, research institutessuch as the Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences, and youth organizations includingSichuan Provincial Committeeof the Communist Youth League to jointly create a media research and study platform.
